Finance Manager

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Aon. As a Finance Manager, you will report directly to the National Director of FP&A and can be based in Toronto Calgary or Vancouver.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our office.

What the day will look like
We take pride in our group's capability to support our business leaders. This position will play a key role in leading our financial analysis and planning functions, management reporting, and fostering business partnerships. If you want to use your strategic problem-solving skills to translate Aon’s vision into practical quantitative plans, this role may be just the thing!
- Manage and complete financial close process
- Create, build and maintain financial reporting and analysis for Commercial Risk and/or Health solution line
- Prepare monthly MD&A, including forward looking statements
- Enable and manage the process for the business to update forecasts
- Load monthly revenue extracts from subsystem(s) to GL
- Update and enter financial forecast into TM1
- Managing invoicing process for areas of the business
How this opportunity is different
In this role you will be an integral part of the Canada’s Finance Planning and Analysis team, a trusted advisor to regional leaders and support the Director of Finance in leading and completing finance and business priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, changing environment.
You will be viewed as a knowledgeable leader, a creative mind and problem solver. You have proven credibility and integrity working with both clients and teams and driving value throughout the organization. Your role will include building talent, communicate business challenges / opportunities and demonstrating mentorship and sharing intellectual capital.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Post-secondary education with a focus in Finance or Accounting is required
- Accounting designation (CA/CPA or equivalent) is good to have
- Minimum 8 years of Accounting/Finance experience in a corporate environment with 2 years of leadership/management experience
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated technical accounting and finance competency to enable the creation of innovative solutions
- Professional demeanor with positive attitude and influence on others within the organization
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with leaders to cultivate and maintain strong relationships
- Strong presentation skills that engage a variety of audiences and cultures
- Detail oriented but able to step back to understand and articulate the bigger picture
- Self starter, with ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize multiple projects
- Highly advance skills in MS Excel including Pivot Table and MS query are required.
- Experience with Workday,TM1 a plus and along with Power BI
- Experience in the insurance industry is an asset
