POSITION TITLE:  DIRECTOR, FP&A, CANADA

REPORTS TO:  COUNTRY MANAGER, CANADA

DOTTED LINE REPORTS TO:  U.S. Finance FP&A Organization

STATUS:  FULL-TIME

              

POSITION SUMMARY: 

As the FP&A lead for American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) in Canada, you are the decision support for the Canada Senior Leadership Team (SLT), bringing financial rigor and commercial acumen to guide your colleagues. You will also be the scorekeeper, responsible for ensuring that the Canadian business is reporting all business metrics on a timely basis. You will work closely with the US Finance team, bringing your insights into the Canada business to allow them to more effectively service the Canada business. Most of all, you will represent our Company values and bring your REAL self to work every day.

 

DOTTED LINE MANAGER RELATIONSHIP:  

Your regular reporting line will be to the Country Manager Canada, and you will be connected to the US FP&A organization through a functional dotted line. Your dotted line manager’s responsibility will be to ensure you receive functional support and training, and to include you on all relevant communications and milestones to set you up for success in your role. Your dotted line manager will work with your manager on setting objectives and reviewing performance on a monthly basis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for reporting, forecasting and leading the Canada team in terms of P&L target achievement
  • Lead ongoing strategic growth investment planning and cost optimization initiatives in accordance with Corporate priorities
  • Provide P&L guidance and coaching for Canada SLT to raise the overall commercial acumen of the entire group
  • Coordinate and communicate pre-season planning, reporting and goal setting for the Canadian business
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring all reports on the Canadian business are provided accurately and on time for all stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Canada SLT on the setting and tracking of all goals, short and long term
  • Find trends in data and turn your insight in to action
  • Play an active and collaborative role in the Canada SLT, helping to develop the strategic plan on an ongoing basis
  • Represent AEO Canada within the broader organization Finance department
  • Analysis of the ideal set up for Finance in Canada, making recommendations for future requirements
  • Uphold Company values by contributing to a positive work environment
  • Understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures located in the AEO Associate Handbook
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years background in Finance, preferably FP&A 
  • Strong background in retail, with Canadian experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AEO systems and processes a benefit (Oracle Hyperion, Tableau, Ariba, Concur)
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Proven history of working with senior leaders to achieve your goals

 

LOCATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remote, with an ability to travel to Canadian provinces, New York and Pittsburgh as required
  • Must be able to make in-person critical milestones
