The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Electromechanical Maintenance Team Leader diagnoses incidents, carries out mechanical and electrical repairs safely, and intervenes, if necessary, based on instructions, plans and diagrams. They carry out planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance according to the established schedule. They ensure the distribution, execution and follow-up of the schedule for the current week.

What you will do
  • Strictly respect the safety instructions imposed by electrical and mechanical risks, by applying lock out tag out and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Carry out planned and unplanned mechanical, electrical, and other manual work necessary for equipment maintenance; carry out some PLC programming work.
  • Read manufacturing plans when required.
  • Dismantle and reassemble machines or installations in a logical and sequential manner to have access to defective parts.
  • Strive to understand the structure and operating modes of industrial systems to quickly detect the causes of defects and failures to remedy them definitively.
  • Perform any other related tasks while monitoring environmental, operational, and professional conditions.

Health and safety

  • Constantly ensure the safety of workers and property throughout all maintenance operations: respect, apply and remind safety instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with CNESST legislation and ensure monitoring according to regulatory constraints.
  • Influence and help the entire company to implement HSE improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and anticipate health and safety concerns and hazards.

Team leader:

  • Ensure that the team’s interventions are carried out safely.
  • Assign work to electromechanics based on planning, production emergencies and mechanics' skills.
  • Collect purchasing requests and transfer them to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide technical assistance and coaching on troubleshooting and other tasks.
  • Ensure machines are covered during absences.
  • Develop the plan to improve the technical skills of the electromechanical team in collaboration with the Senior Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure that the documents completed by the maintenance team complies with good documentation practices.
What you will bring
  • College diploma in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a professional diploma in electromechanics of automated systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing field. • Knowledge of industrial drawing software considered an asset (Autocad, Inventor, Fusion 360).d
  • Bilingual English & French.
  • Proficiency diagnostic and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Technical knowledge in mechanics, electricity, and electronics.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and transpose plans, diagrams and instructions.
  • Ability to complete the documentation required during maintenance interventions.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and ability to make quick decisions while respecting safety rules.
  • Ability to adapt; have good interpersonal skills.
