Site and Location
Board Wide Position - Incumbent is required to travel to various board locations, mileage is compensated.

Position Summary:
The Attendance Counsellor addresses issues of chronic absenteeism for compulsory school-aged students and collaborates with school administrators, student services, school teams, and community agencies to support attendance and academic success for all students.
What you bring to the team:
- Completion of post-secondary education in social work or counselling
- Minimum of three years of experience in social work, counselling, conflict resolution, attendance or related field
- Experience in crisis intervention
- Superb conflict management skills
- Demonstrated supervisory skills
- Strong diplomacy skills
- Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be capable of accurate and detailed work
- Thorough knowledge of The Education Act; Board Policies; Youth Worker Supports, Caring and Safe Schools Initiative, Child-Family Services Act; Board Mental Health and Addiction Strategy
- Ontario Class G Driver's License
