Description
St. Paul, with a population of approximately 5,500 and serving an area of 18,000, is in the northeast region of Alberta, just 200 km away from Edmonton. Reporting to the Director, Addiction and Mental Health Services, the manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of several teams including Crisis, Assertive Outreach, Allied Health, RPACT and a 14 bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at the St Therese Healthcare Centre. The manager is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating these programs. The manager is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care for their assigned clinical operations unit and programs, as well as for the overall operational leadership for the assigned unit and programs. This includes fostering a culture of high quality, collaborative care, continuous improvement, ensuring the effective deployment of resources and contributing to the development of and implementing operational plans. The incumbent establishes protocols and linkages for service delivery, develops and maintains internal capacity and skill to meet regional service needs, provides management and leadership to interdisciplinary teams and builds/maintains solid working intra and inter regionally partnerships to achieve the goals of this position. The position is a participating member of the North Zone Mental Health & Addiction Management team and will represent regional interests as assigned at various forums. The incumbent is responsible for managing human resources issues and conducting financial and budget processes.
Baccalaureate or master’s degree in a relevant regulated health related profession. Registration with the appropriate professional college in the Province of Alberta.
Minimum of five years recent and relevant clinical and/or supervisory and/or leadership experience in the areas of addiction, concurrent disorders, mental health and mental illness. Experience in working in a management role and /or in the supervision of personnel with demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills and expertise. Demonstrated strong clinical knowledge and skills in the areas of addiction, mental health and mental illness, along with consistent efforts to maintain a high quality of client focused care and service.
Experience working as a manager in a mental health & addiction setting.
