Unit Manager

Reporting to the Site Director at WestView Health Centre- Stony Plain, the Manager Long Term Care and Hospice implements the values of AHS by ensuring the provision of high quality and safe resident care, through the effective and efficient management of human, material, and financial resources. The Manager leads and directs the multidisciplinary team in the provision of excellent care of the residents to ensure all national, provincial, and organizational clinical standards and policies are met. Additionally, you will develop and implement unit based standard operating procedures. The Manager is responsible for recruitment, retention, hiring, coaching, mentoring and performance management of staff. In collaboration with the physician dyad, you monitor outcomes and performance indicators to evaluate and lead ongoing quality improvement of the program and service delivery. The Manager is accountable for ensuring daily operational staffing within Collective Agreements and accurately manage budget expenditures.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. College of Registered Nurses of Alberta in good standing. Previous Long Term Care or Hospice Experience; previous management or leadership experience.

Proven leadership ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Clinical experience in geriatrics, medicine, palliative care.
