Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Staff Scheduler to support staff scheduling needs for the emergency, surgical and acute care units. This position relies on strong collaboration among Nursing staff, Unit Clerks, Health Care Aides and management Reporting to the Site Manager, the Staff Scheduler will play a key role in ensuring staffing coverage. This position involves no public or patient interaction and focuses solely on supporting internal team members. Key Responsibilities: Create, maintain, and adjust staff schedules in accordance with unit needs, collective agreements, and organizational policies. Coordinate shift changes, replacement coverage, and short‑notice staffing adjustments. Communicate clearly and respectfully with co‑workers to support staffing requirements and resolve scheduling concerns. Monitor staffing levels, track leaves, and ensure accurate and timely updates to schedules. Collaborate with unit leadership to anticipate staffing needs and support operational flow. The Staff Scheduler plays an essential behind‑the‑scenes role in supporting frontline care teams and contributes significantly to positive unit operations. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Experience with the AHS Program: Work Force Management (WFM) staff scheduling system Proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel Strong knowledge and understanding of Collective Agreements.
