Unit Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Unit Clerk to join our multidisciplinary team within a correctional centre setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting healthcare operations by coordinating patient appointments, facilitating Nurse Practitioner (NP) clinics, and ensuring the smooth flow of administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities: Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently. Coordinate and support NP clinics, including preparation and follow-up. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care. Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations at all times. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
