Description
Your opportunity is with a dynamic and fast-paced Older Adult Psychiatric Rehabilitation program at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. As a Unit Clerk working in both inpatient and outpatient units, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. On the inpatient unit, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include, but are not limited to, reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, supporting admissions and discharges, supply ordering, entering FM&E (Facility Maintenance and Engineering) requests, booking transportation as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. For the outpatient units, you will provide telephone support, referral entry and scanning, appointment booking, provide administrative support to physicians, and support the operations of the day program including coordinating transportation for clients. Key to this position is the ability to: Respond to patient and family inquiries with professionalism and respect. Present with calm composure during challenging interactions. Demonstrate empathy and compassion when engaging with patients, families, and colleagues. Engage in respectful and effective communication with all members of the healthcare team. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Experience working with Connect Care training.
