Description
Reporting to the Supervisor Site Services, this position is responsible for creating replenishment orders for end users supply cart locations utilizing handheld barcode scanner. Provides support to Patient Care units, ensuring units are supplied with inventory by means of top-up replenishment module or direct order as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining end user supply carts and maintenance of the cart inventory integrity. This position is responsible for receiving and the verification of inbound orders from the Regional Warehouse in accordance with proper and prudent practices as outlined by departmental procedures. Common functions will include data entry and origination utilizing a variety of software programs such as Oracle, Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment utilizing good storage distribution techniques and proper handling procedures to ensure the integrity of the product; for actively contributing to a safe and productive team working environment. As a member of the Site Services department, the Stores Attendant will perform other related duties as required.
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with AHS guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicates frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantity of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Experience in warehousing, material handling and computerized inventory control system. Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers, and vendors. Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision. Reliable, cooperative, and able to demonstrate effective service attitude. Maintain a positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities. Experience in the use of a computer and Microsoft software. Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques. Able to occasionally move pallets, using manual jack, exceeding 1200kg requiring a pushing force of 20kg.
Experience in shipping and receiving. Certification in TDG and WHMIS.
