Description
Claresholm is a hub of health and wellness for all ages. Located approximately 1 hour south of Calgary and is the home of 3 inpatient AHS Care Facilities in which CPSM operates out of, including a Continuing Care Centre, a Mental Health & Addiction Centre as well as the General Hospital. CPSM also supports several off-site AHS programs throughout the community including Lander Treatment Centre, Community Mental Health, Public Health and Home Care. As a Stores I, you will be responsible for issuing, replenishing and restocking of medical/surgical supplies throughout the Hospital and various Health Centres. Other key functions you will perform include moderately complex clerical and manual duties involved in shipping, receiving, warehousing, as well as transporting and delivering supplies within the sites and between the various AHS sites within the town. As an integral link in the Health Care chain, you will have the opportunity communicate with all levels and departments of Alberta Health Services as required to provide optimum customer service and in doing so contributing to the highest level of patient care.
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with AHS guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicates frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantity of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers and vendors. Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision. Reliable, cooperative and able to demonstrate effective service attitude. Maintain a positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities. Experience in the use of a computer and Microsoft software. Able to occasionally move pallets, using manual jack, exceeding 1200kg requiring a pushing force of 20kg. Available to report to work within 60 mins. Must have valid class 5 driver’s license with no GDL restrictions and a clean driving record.
Experience in a computerized inventory control system. Experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing and material handling. Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques. Certification in TDG and WHMIS.
