This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker I position in the Concurrent Disorders Program with the CCMHBI. CCMNBI is a campus of specialists and health professionals that are committed to integrating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for our patients and their families. The Social Worker I - CDES requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people who suffer both from a Mental Health and Addiction disorders. Strong inter-personal, organizational and communication skills are large contributors to success with this position. Reporting to the Unit Manager and the Social Worker III or Team Lead, The Social Worker I will perform work of limited scope and complexity which will generally involve gathering and documenting client information, providing basic client support, completing basic assessments of client and family social and economic environments, making client referrals to outside agencies and so forth. This position will also support Social Worker II’s & III’s. The social Worker I will also inform the treatment team of all interventions involving Patient care and take directions from the treatment team. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker I, you will be a member of a multi- disciplinary team that provides mental health services to individuals, families and/or groups at a community based facility. You will be responsible for the initial screening of patients by gathering and documenting client information, basic assessment and providing support to clients and their families' short-term needs. You will liaise with and refer clients to appropriate community and government services and support, along with participating in case conferences and team meetings.

Completion of diploma in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

One year directly related experience. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a psychiatric environment.
