Description
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide crisis intervention, assessment, diagnostic and treatment services to children with psychiatric disorders. Based on current research evidence and your 5+ years of experience, you will assess client's needs during admission at RDRHC. Additional responsibilities will also include working in partnership with and providing consultation to psychiatry, physicians, and the multidisciplinary care team. You have a working knowledge of an evidence informed approach to psychotherapy, and you utilize a systematic approach to utilizing client feedback and outcomes. You will be proficient in developing treatment and discharge plans, including feedback from the patient, their family/supports, and our clinical teams. This is a high paced acute environment. Experience in working in a hospital setting is considered an asset. You may be exposed to psychologically and physically challenging situations, given the patient population of the Unit. Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a sample of their writing of assessments and/or treatment plans during selection.
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Must hold a Master of Social Work and be registered with the Alberta College of Social Work. Experience providing assessments and psychotherapy to clients in acute and community mental health settings. Experience developing and implementing treatment and discharge plans. Strong computer and technology skills are required.
Experience in an acute, hospital type setting (2 years). Experience working with youth and their families/supports (5 years). Must be registered with the Alberta College of Social Work on the Clinical Registry.
