Social Worker II

Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) is an Acute Care hospital with over 1,100 beds. It is the Trauma Centre for Southern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and Western Saskatchewan. FMC has a Neuro Tertiary Unit as well as the majority of In-Patient Neurological services in Calgary. The present caseload for this position is in medical/surgical unit, with the potential for coverage on any unit/service as required. The caseload for all positions within the Allied Health department may be subject to change based on operational considerations. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Minimum six months experience within the last year in an adult acute care setting. BLS for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment.
