Social Worker II

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Social Worker II to work and grow in the variety of areas across the Stollery Children's Hospital, including critical care, in-patients and ambulatory clinics to help our children and families through their medical journey. The Stollery Children's Hospital is family focused and works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best care and access is available to all families. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Indigenous training and cultural awareness completed. Recent pediatric experience. Grief and loss therapy and experience. Must be highly skilled in adjustment disorder counselling and crisis management interventions. Ability to work within community systems and to identify resources for best long-term impact and outcomes. Must be highly organized with the ability to prioritize. Strong advocacy skills are essential.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and asset. Second language also an asset.
