The ideal candidate will have front line health care experience, health care management experience and a passion for helping others. The Site Manager is responsible for leading the clinical operations of the Coaldale Health Centre, including informing the site operational plan and priorities. The Coaldale Health Centre has 41 Type A continuing care beds (long term care), four community transition beds, and operates a seven-day a-week ambulatory clinic. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to healthcare professionals dedicated to providing leading care to Albertans at the Coaldale Health Centre. Your leadership and direction will help to support the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. As the Site Manager, you will be making key decisions and establishing and contributing to the achievements and goals of the site. You will promote effective communication between staff, across programs and services, and within the South Zone. Using effective management practices, the manager will manage initiatives to improve the overall clinical operations, and act as the primary point of contact for issues that relate to the site. The role requires the ability to maintain strong working relationships with key leaders and stakeholders to provide operational and interdepartmental leadership that integrates the site, as well as managing relationships with both internal and external operational partners. The Site Manager will ensure the effective deployment of human resources, and create a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace where staff can reach their full potential. The Site Manager also ensures the appropriate allocation of fiscal and capital resources and manages and reports on the operating budget.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program, an accredited health professions education program, or two-year post-secondary program in a health profession. Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Progressive experience in a health care environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Practical experience in project management. Uses strategic thinking, considering long-term goals, assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals.

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, resident-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Effective leadership abilities include demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment.

Bachelor’s level education in Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Leadership, and/or Business. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Three (3) to Five (5) years of management experience. Understanding of Continuing Care Health Service Standards for Long Term Care. Progressive experience in a health care environment in a site management, patient flow, or bed utilization role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
