The RAH is currently seeking a Service Worker Supervisor, responsible for overseeing the human resources and operational functioning of the Service Worker team. The DTCOR Surgical Suite provides care to high-acuity patients who have undergone a variety of major surgeries, including General, Neuro, Orthopedic, Trauma, Plastic, Oral-Maxillofacial, Urology, and Thoracic procedures, both elective and emergency. Our team of professionals performs over 13,000 surgeries annually, the majority of which are complex and acute. As an inner-city hospital, we proudly serve a diverse patient population, including lower-income and marginalized clients. Under the direction of the Unit Manager, the Service Worker Supervisor will provide leadership to ensure quality care within the department by adhering to unit policies, procedures, and goals. Exceptional organizational skills are essential for daily coordination of a busy surgical suite with thirteen theatres and an eighteen-bay recovery room. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are vital for this role, as you will work closely with a team of front-line managers to ensure consistent standards, goals, and objectives are met and clearly communicated to all members of the interdisciplinary team.

In the Service Worker Supervisor position, you will be accountable for effectively managing human, financial, and physical resources within the Surgical Suite, including the Post-Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU). The Service Worker Supervisor leads quality initiatives while consistently promoting a professional work environment. Key responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring workflow, ensuring the efficient delivery of patient care through staff scheduling, assigning work duties, and managing performance. As a member of the leadership team, the Service Worker Supervisor will play a vital role in developing strategic plans, driving process improvement initiatives, and creating and implementing operational plans. This role also requires serving as a role model by incorporating evidence-based, best practices into daily operations. Strong team culture management is essential to fostering an environment of respect and caring.
