Description
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
CPR/BLS Training. Be able to lift 15-20 lbs. overhead and lift 50+ lbs. from floor. Must be able to push patients in stretchers up to 200+ lbs. and push patients in wheelchairs up to 300+ lbs. Lifting, bending, and assisting with patient transfers.
Previous service worker and Diagnostic Imaging experience. Previous Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Infection Control knowledge. Required to be able to multitask and demonstrate self-direction. Be available to work days, evenings, and weekend shifts. Completed CC Rover training is an asset.
