Reporting to the Manager Budgeting and Forecasting, the Senior Financial Analyst supports all aspects of the AHS annual budgeting and forecasting processes including validating and reconciling budget and forecast information, calculating financial implications of planning decisions, implementing and maintaining budget and forecast processes, and providing advice to key budget stakeholders. This is a dynamic position that requires interaction with different areas of the organization and requires the ability to create strong partnerships with key stakeholders. This position requires a broad understanding of financial knowledge and the ability to apply that understanding to a financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting context.

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Budget Team and contributes to the overall Financial Planning objectives by ensuring that budget and forecast related information is reliable, complete, and accurate. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst: Assist with budget and forecast scenario planning for multi-year high level capital and operating planning including calculating and analyzing financial implications of budget and forecast planning assumptions. Assist in the preparation of the budgeted financial statements and reporting. Assist with the preparation of budget and forecast submissions to Government. Assist with preparation and review of external and internal reporting requirements. Establish strong relationships with other areas in the organization by building trust and working collaboratively with others. Assist in responding to ad-hoc requests by Finance Senior Leadership and AHS Executives. Contribute to the success of the Budget and Forecast Team by participating in regular team meetings, supporting Finance goals and priorities, identifying potential areas of risk, and looking for opportunities to be more efficient and effective.

A minimum of a post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial planning or financial advisory role.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and solve problems with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in an ambiguous environment, including having strong time management and organizational skills. Proven ability to provide financial consultation to senior managers and directors. Demonstrated ability to work with complex financial information, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA. Experience with Hyperion and Oracle GL Previous experience in an organization of similar size and complexity. Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
