Description

Are you ready to combine your skills in facilitation, quality improvement and change management to support system level change? The Manager of Clinical Support Services is looking for a leader in the development and promotion of best practice in quality improvement and patient safety. This exciting and unique position will provide a wide range of opportunities with shared responsibilities to local, zonal, and high-profile provincial initiatives. This Systems Consultant develops, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality improvement and safety services at the site, sector and zone level. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
The Implementation Lead will work collaboratively with Quality and Patient Safety and our clinical teams, under the direction and support of the Clinical Support Services Manager. This incumbent will work collaboratively, supporting and consulting in the development of quality assurance/ safety recommendations (e.g. developing safety communications). The incumbent works with a high degree of independence to support the planning and implementation of local, zonal and provincially initiatives.
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in a clinical area (nursing or allied health discipline) or related area required plus appropriate license, or other recognized designation is preferred. A minimum of 5 of years’ progressive experience in a health related or business administration discipline, in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience an asset). Knowledge and experience with AIW, PROSCI, Lean Process Improvement and ADKAR model for change management. Must be living in Fort McMurray area or willing to relocate to area. This is an on-site position.
Experience in coordinating research projects or teams, complex data analysis and/or interpretation, evaluation methodologies, and developing formal reports. Experience in conducting safety reviews, developing recommendations and tracking implementation of recommendations. Strong understanding of health care systems, quality improvement and performance measurement methodology. Understanding of quality assurance processes and procedures. Previous experience leading project implementation.
Significant understanding of Section 9 of the Alberta Evidence Act. Process Improvement, change and/or project management training an asset (eg. Current certification in AIW, PROSCI, Lean process and ADKAR.)
