Respiratory Therapist I

Rotation is currently a straight night shift line.

As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy Program. Successful completion of the National Respiratory Certification Exam as administered by the College and Association of Respiratory Therapy (CARTA) or the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CSRT). Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

A minimum of 2 (two) years of adult critical care or emergency experience within the last five (5) years. Previous Arterial Line insertion certification. Intubation Certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Current Neonatal Resuscitation Course (NRP). Previous experience working in medicine, surgery, or operating room.
