Located in the picturesque Foothills of Alberta and in close proximity to the Rocky Mountains, Pincher Creek Home Care has an opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team. Reporting to the Seniors Health Area Manager, as a casual Registered Nurse (RN) you will be responsible for collaborating and organizing comprehensive health care services for clients in a variety of settings in coordination with the Home Care Case Manager. As a Casual Home Care RN, you should have experience in the role of advocate and the ability to balance the needs of the individual, family, and community within organizational and legislative parameters. The Pincher Creek Home Care Team is knowledgeable with a strong commitment to quality patient care. The casual Home Care RN has the ability to develop creative approaches to client care and demonstrates sound critical thinking and ethical decision making. As a casual Home Care RN, you will need to demonstrate a patient and family centered approach with all client interactions.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Application of Comprehensive assessment, case management, and intervention techniques. Promoting Current trends, issues and practices in community care. Partnering with Community resources. Implementation of Current best practices in case management processes. Conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Leadership. Time management and organization. Negotiating skills with clients, caregivers and families. Strong Family assessment skills. Effective oral and written communication. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Demonstrated ability to work with people in health care environment with professionalism and respect. Positive approach and good listening skills in dealing with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: Constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift. Physical exertion including bending/walking/sitting/ or standing for long periods of time. Keyboarding/mousing documentation for prolonged periods of time. Ability to be on call as required. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.
Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Recent Home Care experience preferred minimum one year-within last three years Recent clinical experience in psychiatric, geriatric, and palliative care nursing preferred. Knowledge of and skills in applying Home Care Nursing Practice Standards.
