Registered Nurse - Renal Dialysis

The Registered Nurse - Renal Dialysis practices within the philosophy and guidelines of the Alberta Kidney Care - South and works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of holistic and comprehensive care, to meet the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. This position may involve lifting and movements requiring fine motor skills (e.g. hand dexterity).

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment required. Basic computer skills required. Ability to maintain effective and respectful working relationships required. Demonstrated excellent assessment, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player required. Active Hemodialysis experience in the last 5 years required. HD Charge nurse/team leader experience required. Acute trained required. Outreach trained required. In-patient and nocturnal experience required. Successful completion of the Specialized Clinical Competency of Hemodialysis Orientation required.

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required. CNeph(C) qualification preferred.
