Works with the Pharmacy Informatics team as a Subject Matter Operational Readiness Expert (SMORE). Functionally reporting to the Pharmacy Systems Standards & Support Manager, you will lead decisions on configuring technology related to medication-related data and knowledge, including EPIC and Warehouse Management System (WMS). The expertise provided by SMOREs ensures that system configuration focuses on optimal medication-related patient care and health outcomes consistent with the mission and vision of AHS Pharmacy Services. As the bridge between business and technical, SMOREs lead investigations into informatics-related issues, collaborate with analyst teams to explore configuration options and develop innovative solutions and recommendations. SMOREs also establish effective working relationships and are key liaisons between Pharmacy Services and other provincial teams. They collaborate with clinical and technical partners to investigate medication-related issues, facilitate decision-making and ensure configuration aligns with the business and operational needs of Pharmacy Services. SMOREs work with Zonal and Provincial Operational Pharmacy teams to balance their program-specific issues with the shared goal of standardized Pharmacy services. SMOREs prioritize identified issues, work with team leads towards resolution of the issue and offer support in change management planning related to informatics initiatives and system decisions. Key skills required include effective communication, strong interpersonal abilities, creative problem-solving, and adaptability. Work hours are generally during weekdays, but occasional shifts outside these hours may be required. The position is remote, so you can work from any location across Alberta. Although posted for an Edmonton site, remote work is acceptable.

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Credentialing in the Willow Inpatient, Ambulatory and Oncology training tracks. Previous experience with pharmacy clinical information system support as a SMORE, Willow CT/Senior Trainer, Pharmacy CKL, Willow Analyst/App Lead or Pharmacy Connect Care Implementation Lead is required. Project lead experience with demonstrated ability to positively promote the change process and interface with key partners to discuss issues and work towards resolution is required.

Ability to extrapolate knowledge and apply a provincial view based on experience in different pharmacy settings. Experience in adult education.
