Description
An opportunity to join the ACESS/Unit 102 surgical team at FMC. The ACESS Nurse Practitioner is integral to the efficiency and effectiveness of the service at FMC site and works collaboratively with the surgeons and medical team to improve patient outcomes. This autonomous and independent role contributes to quality patient care through advanced practice, leadership, consultation and referrals, education and research. The role bridges ambulatory and inpatient care.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Excel in communication and problem solving. Strong assessment skills to support patient throughout the ambulatory and in patient phases of care. Minimum of 3 years of general surgery experience.
Knowledge of Connect Care is an asset.
