As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist you will be working at the University of Alberta Hospital in both Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT meeting the needs for In-patients, Emergency Department patients, and out-patients for both Adults and Pediatrics. Both the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT departments deliver high quality imaging including diagnostic CT imaging preformed with NM and PET. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. As a NMT I, you will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures as described in the department procedure manual using a wide range of equipment such as gamma cameras, computers, ECG monitors, cardiac stress equipment, and radiation safety devices.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
ACMDTT enhanced practice license for CT and Contrast Media. Basic Life Support Certification.
Previous Acute care NM and PET experience, Connect Care Non-invasive Technologist Training, It’s Your Move, Class 7 Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Valid N95 Fit Test, and experience with medication administration preferred.
