Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Addiction and Mental Health clients and their families. To support this goal, the North Zone Addictions and Mental Health department has an exciting opportunity for a casual Mental Health Therapist position with the Peace River Addictions and Mental Health (Child/Youth and Adult). This position serves clients in Peace River, Fairview, Manning and surrounding areas who have an identified mental illness, through a Recovery oriented Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework that promotes client respect, autonomy, health, and improved quality of life. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
