Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Camrose Recovery Alberta Mental Health & Addiction Clinic. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or a Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with: Related master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or, Experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. 3 years of relevant mental health experience. Completed licensure under the Health Professions Act. Direct client care includes responding, screening, and prioritizing service, conducting necessary assessment and providing treatment to clients including mental status and risk assessments and therapy. Therapy. 5 years' experience in mental health/addictions.
Experience in community mental health and working in a rural community. Knowledge of brief therapy and other clinical modalities.
