An exciting opportunity exists to be part of the changing landscape of addiction and mental health services in the North Zone. Access Addiction & Mental Health (AAMH) will be a single point of contact for AHS Addiction & Mental Health (AMH) services in northern Alberta and will support Albertans who are looking to access services and programs, as well as provide system navigation support and general service information. As a member of the AAMH Intake Team, you will be responding to callers and conducting the tele-triage of addiction and mental health calls. Dependent on the nature of the call, you may be required to conduct a thorough screening and intake assessment to determine appropriate level of service required for the caller, enroll the caller into an AHS AMH service, advise of appropriate external community based services, provide immediate brief intervention and solution-focused support (if required), and appropriately triage to services where necessary. As part of a virtual team providing expanded intake services for North Zone community clinics in the days and evenings, you will be supporting clients across the age continuum, including clients in rural and remote areas. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Candidates must have Intake experience, Genesys system experience and Connect Care experience to be selected for an interview due to the high level of competition for this position. 3-4 years of related Addiction and Mental Health experience.
