Description
This Medical Radiation Technologist III position provides leadership and coordination for the day-to-day operations of the Computed Tomography (CT) department at Chinook Regional Hospital. Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging leadership team, the successful candidate will support effective scheduling, staff development, quality and safety practices, patient experience, and operational readiness of equipment and workflows. This role works collaboratively with technologists, site and zone partners, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, patient- and family-centered care while supporting Alberta Health Services’ vision, values, and strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is a motivated and adaptable leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to service excellence.
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) III, you will be responsible for the operational supervision of a staff team and work processes of a radiology department or program/function. You will act as the lead Clinical Preceptor for MRT students and primary liaison to the area Radiologist. Your work can include establishing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials for the department and administering quality control assurance programs.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum of three years of recent experience as a CT Technologist. Demonstrated organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to support change and contribute to quality improvement.
Previous leadership experience and completion of leadership development courses. Experience with ePeople and payroll processes, supply ordering, and departmental workflow coordination. CTIC certification and experience supporting student education and clinical preceptorship are preferred. IV and CVAD certification are assets.
