The MRT III position at the Alberta Children's Hospital operates in the highly technically and specialized environments of Computerized Tomography and Angiography. Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CT/IR. This position leads, organizes and guides a high-functioning interdisciplinary diagnostic imaging team to provide a safe and efficient service. As a working supervisor the MRT III will provide department supervision, organizing, prioritizing workflow, monitoring and evaluating staff and inventory levels and assigning daily work. The MRT III identifies, develops and facilities staff development, training or learning needs and promotes a culture of learning.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) III, you will be responsible for the operational supervision of a staff team and work processes of a radiology department or program/function. You will act as the lead Clinical Preceptor for MRT students and primary liaison to the area Radiologist. Your work can include establishing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials for the department and administering quality control assurance programs.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

CTIC for CT Technologists. CAMRT Certificate in Interventional Radiology. Minimum 3 years' experience in a pediatric setting. Coaching and mentoring skills to foster an environment of collaboration and effective teamwork. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical and administrative personnel.

Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively to promote good teamwork. Ability to work under pressure, in emergency situations and balance and prioritize numerous demands. Sound judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Compassionate and caring attitude and focused patient and family centered care.
