The Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC) is the only regional referral centre for Central Zone, providing specialized healthcare services to more than 450,000 people across Central Alberta-stretching from Drumheller to Two Hills, and from the Saskatchewan border to the Rocky Mountains. RDRHC is entering an exciting period of major redevelopment, including 200 additional inpatient beds (for a total of 570), six new operating rooms, and two state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Labs! With the opening of the new, state-of-the-art Cardiac Cath Labs, there will be expanded access to cardiovascular care for patients across the Central Zone. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a passionate multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering faster diagnosis and treatment for a full spectrum of heart and vascular conditions! Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT II) plays a central role in imaging components of cardiac catheterization. The MRT II provides direct patient care and procedural support, circulating and assisting during cardiac interventions and overseeing imaging requirements for complex procedures. This position requires proficiency with both portable and fixed cardiovascular imaging equipment, as well as the ability to navigate specialized software platforms essential to modern cardiac imaging. Success in this role requires strong communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment. The MRT II must demonstrate critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability for professional practice are essential.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Minimum 1-year recent experience (within the last 3 years) with general radiography, special procedures in an acute care setting. This MRT position includes the following physical requirements: being on one's feet for extended periods of time (including walking/standing and wearing lead - weight of lead approximately 20 pounds), exposure to infectious diseases, and hazardous situations for which they are trained; be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients; be able to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.

Experience working in Cardiac Cath Lab setting preferred. Including completion of Cath Lab training. Connect Care workflow experience. Experience in Diagnostic Cardiology or Electrophysiology department.
