Canmore General Hospital is a medical facility located in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Alberta Health Services is responsible for the operations of the hospital. It is a referral center for surgical services within the province of Alberta. It contains 25 acute care and 23 long-term care beds. Diagnostic Imaging (DI) is an interdisciplinary team that provides people-centered care with an emphasis on working together. The DI Team takes pride in our high-quality service to Canmore and surrounding area, all our international visitors and in all we do for our patients, colleagues, and community. As a DI MRT I, you will have the unique opportunity of working together with a team of high preforming Technologists, Radiologist and other hospital departments supporting established workflows managing inpatient, long term care patient, outpatient, and Emergency patient examinations. This is done in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. This position will rotate through General Radiography and the CT department, as well this position is responsible for all General radiography and potentially urgent CT exams during evenings, weekends, and possibly nights. When scheduled in a full CT shift, this position will be paid acting incumbent to a MRT II level according to the collective agreement.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

CT Experience. N95 Fit Test. Completion of It’s Your Move training. Connect Care Training.

Good organizational skills/ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal/communication skills/tact and courtesy in with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to cooperate, work independently, promote teamwork and work under pressure in emergency situations. Perception, initiative, good judgment, and detail orientated. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control/safety. CTIC and CT experience helpful.
