Description
South Zone leadership is excited to announce a recruitment opportunity for a Temporary 0.7 FTE Medical Radiologic Technologist II in the CT Scanning Department at Chinook Regional Hospital. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to provide general and complex Computed Tomography services including cardiac, stroke and trauma imaging as well as participate in CT interventional procedures and virtual colonography examinations. The technologist will work under the guidance of the site supervisor and will participate in a rotation that is compiled of day, evening, weekend and on-call shifts. The technologist will work within the dynamics of the Diagnostic Imaging team, focusing on providing efficient, high-quality care to patients of the South Zone. As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including days, evenings, weekends and on-call. Must be physically capable to perform all duties as per current scope of practice.
CT experience is preferred. CTIC certification and student liaison experience would be an asset. IV and CVAD certification is preferred. Should demonstrate the ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Be able to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Have a demonstrated interest in professional growth and knowledge of advanced scanning practices.
