The Manager, Occupational Therapy Services is a key leadership role within the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and reports to the Director, Pediatric Rehabilitation. This position provides leadership and oversight for Occupational Therapy Services and assigned programs in alignment with Alberta Health Services’ vision, mission, and strategic priorities. Working within a matrix management structure, the Manager is accountable for the delivery of effective, coordinated, and patient- and family-centred rehabilitation services. The role includes operational leadership of professional and support staff, oversight of budgets and resources, and participation in site-wide initiatives and committees. The Manager partners with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and operational leaders to support high-quality care, continuous improvement, and integrated service delivery. This position is part of a collaborative leadership team committed to excellence in rehabilitation and patient experience.
Healthcare professional with a relevant post-secondary degree and eligibility for professional membership with the appropriate Alberta regulatory college. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of in-scope leadership experience in a healthcare environment of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Experience leading clinical or professional practice teams and working collaboratively within interdisciplinary care models.
Formal leadership training or participation in structured leadership development programs. Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to engage and support staff within a patient- and family-centred, values-based environment. Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operational setting. Strong leadership capabilities combined with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others, manage change, and implement process improvements. Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Graduate-level education. Experience managing occupational therapy or rehabilitation services in a healthcare setting. Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Experience working in a unionized environment. Proven ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and to support organizational and system-level initiatives.
