Description
The EHS - Alberta Aeromedical Manager is a respected member of a high-functioning multidisciplinary team that works with and reports to the EHS - Alberta Division Chief Aeromedical and Emergency Preparedness. You will have an important leadership role within Alberta’s Air Ambulance Program wherein you will be given responsibility for monitoring service delivery, for making operational decisions within established guidelines, for making recommendations for system improvement, and for supporting system change initiatives.
EHS Aeromedical requires multidisciplinary collaboration. As such, our team members bring a diverse array of experiences to their roles. Previous and current members of our team include administrators, paramedics, acute care nurses, pilots, and emergency medicine physicians. Professional degrees, diplomas, certificates, courses, and previous successful management positions in one or more of the following areas will demonstrate the candidate’s ability to contribute as a member of our team: Business Administrators: Strategic planning, quality assurance, process improvement, change management. Promotion and public engagement. Skilled communicators. Contract operational management. Clinicians: Paramedics (PCP, ACP, CCP) in the air ambulance environment. Nurses, especially those with acute care experience. Experts in clinical simulation. Knowledge of ambulance dispatch systems and virtual care. Aviation: Human factors experts. Knowledge of medical transport systems. Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations. Knowledge of airport/heliport logistics related to air ambulance.

As this is a leadership role, active licensure in the province as a health professional or pilot is an asset, but not a requirement.
