Description
Provides daily leadership support and effective decision making to ensure quality client/patient care out comes that align with Recovery Alberta policies, procedures, objectives and priorities. The Unti Manager is a strong leader who promotes professional team development, creates and sustains a healthy work environment that includes team culture, emotional resiliency and safety. The UM collaborates, builds and maintains positive working relationships within SHC/SCHC and partnership within Recovery Alberta. Resource utilization will be relevant, efficient and effective.
This position reports directly to the Program Manager of South Health Campus, Adult Addiction & Mental Health Services. The Unit Manager is responsible for the daily clinical and operational business. Supervision of professional Allied Health staff, nursing practice and support staff for the South (SCHC/SHC) Community Adult Addiction and Mental Health Clinic, SCHC Urgent Care, SCHC Single Session, SHC Day Hospital and UPCC. The Unit Manager participates in implementing and maintaining standard of practice, scheduling/rotations/payroll management, supply management, human resource management (recruitment, interviewing, hiring, performance management, orientation), as well holds a lead position on specific committees and meeting groups.
A minimum of a baccalaureate Degree. A minimum of 5 years in a community addiction and mental health role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in the addiction and mental health environment, including 3-5 years experience in a senior clinician role in AMH operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector.
Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short and long-term plans and projects and deliver client-focused results.
