Alberta Health Services (AHS) is now seeking such a person for the role of MRI Tech II Supervisor at the new, state-of-the-art Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, which opened in 2021. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II, you will be a working supervisor responsible for the day-to- day operation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging services and provide technical assistance for staff. You will also organize and coordinate overall patient flow, including coordinating exam mix and weekly room schedules.
Completion of diploma from an accredited MRI Technologist Program recognized by the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) or completion of certification from an accredited MRI Technologist Program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate, supervise, and support a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to perform staff scheduling, manage workflow, and prioritize workload during high-demand periods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and other hospital departments. Evidence of effective decision making and collaboration working with others in a fast-paced environment. Experience providing informal or formal leadership, acting as a charge technologist, preceptor, or team leader. Minimum of 3-5 years of recent clinical experience as a MRI Technologist, with at least 2 years in MRI in a hospital environment.
Previous leadership experience desired.
