Description

Rockyview Hospital Endoscopy clinic is served by a small, but highly productive, hard-working team providing excellent service to our patients. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Min 2 year,s recent GI/Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy experience. Min 2 years, w/i last 6, emergency/critical care/acute experience. Experience with procedural preparation and recovery. IV experience/certification required; demonstrated skill in clinical decision making with venous access. Ability to function effectively in fast-paced environment where effective organization, prioritization, & multitasking skills are required throughout workday. Demonstrated ability to function independently & within a team environment. Strong leadership, coaching, problem-solving, critical thinking & decision-making skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills. Must be able to work in physically challenging environment w/ frequent pulling & pushing of stretchers, assisting patient transfers & where constant standing, walking, lifting & bending are required. Lifting & maneuvering heavy weight is required on all days of work. Competence w/ typing & office/clinical/scheduling software required. Typing & computer work completed in a standing position throughout workday. Experience with Epic/Connect Care required.
Endoscopy experience will be prioritized. Emergency Experience preferred. Minimum availability - 2 weekday shifts per week. Willing to pick up sameday callout.
