Description
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for acute care neonatal patients. Prioritization and critical thinking. Recent NICU experience preferred within past year. Demonstrated ability to perform physical assessments. Demonstrated ability to work well with team members. Communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Ability to prioritize tasks. Critical thinking. Parent teaching Integrate family centered care in practice. Fluent in spoken and written English required. Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must work to full scope of practice including IV initiation certification.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As Required.
Breastfeeding course preferred. Basic computer skills required. Trained for milk prep role. Acute care experience. Current NRP certification preferred. Fortified expressed breast milk preparation.
