Description

Rockyview Hospital Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy clinic is served by a small, but highly productive, hard-working team providing excellent service to our patients. We are seeking a healthcare professional with the right skills and experience to join this team.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
2 years of Endoscopy experience demonstrating advanced competence in preparation/recovery, and patient safety; OR an equivalent combination of minimum 1 year (within last 4) of GI/Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy experience AND 1 year (within last 5) of Emergency, critical care or acute medical nursing experience. IV therapy certification/experience and demonstrated skill in clinical decision-making with venous access required. Ability to function effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring organization, prioritization, and multitasking throughout the workday. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team with strong leadership, coaching, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent pulling/pushing of stretchers, assisting patient transfers, and sustained standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching. Lifting & maneuvering heavy weight is required on all days of work. Competence with typing and clinical/scheduling software (including Epic/Connect Care), and Microsoft Office suite required.
Previous experience acting as student preceptor and/or orienting new staff. Experience assisting with Colonoscopy/Bronchoscopy/Gastroscopy procedures. CVC level 1 certification preferred. Proficiency using Netcare.
