Licensed Practical Nurse

Your opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge while working in a busy PCN and Medical Clinic. Successful candidates are eligible for northern allowance and may be eligible for a northern resident's tax deduction. Relocation incentive and housing are available for eligible candidates. There is also the opportunity for some continuing education. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and excellent benefits, Alberta Health Services currently has a Northern Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Retention Payment (annual maximum of $2,500) for Regular Full-time employment. This payment is non-pensionable and is pro-rated for Regular Part-time employment. Additional incentives such as temporary housing (up to 3 months) and relocation assistance, based on eligibility and availability. Opportunities for career development/growth, including an additional five days of paid leave for purposes of professional development for Regular employees employed in excess of one year and pro-rated days for new hires based on number of months employed in a calendar year. Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Must be a team player. Must have good communication skills and feel confident in your practice.

Previous experience working in a clinic. Familiar with Connect Care. Motivated.
