Laundry II

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

As a Laundry II, you will be responsible for transporting, preparing and washing soiled linen and distributing of clean linen and apparel. Your typical duties may include sorting and weighing soiled linen; loading, unloading and operating washing and drying equipment; preparing surgical textile packs; monitoring and adjusting workflow and volume to maximize equipment utilization and ensuring equipment is working properly.

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift up to 20kg, walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction. Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone. Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.

Previous cleaning experience preferred. Experience performing cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
