The Edmonton Radiopharmaceutical Centre (ERC) offers a unique opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant who thrives in a dynamic, highly regulated environment. Working under minimal supervision, you will proactively plan, schedule, and coordinate preventative maintenance and calibrations for specialized equipment, supporting the safe and efficient production of radiopharmaceuticals. In addition to equipment management, you will handle shipping and receiving duties, including preparing regulatory documentation (CNSC, TDG, GMP), performing contamination checks on radioactive packages, and delivering radiopharmaceuticals within Edmonton using ERC’s delivery vehicle. You will also assist with equipment installation and qualification, maintain cleanliness and safety in packaging areas, and prepare containers for reuse. This role requires adaptability, as you will provide coverage for other Lab Assistants and administrative staff, including reception, supply management, and QA sample preparation. You will also support waste handling (biohazard, chemical, radioactive) and ensure accurate data entry into electronic systems for compliance and performance monitoring. If you are detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a specialized healthcare environment, this position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care and operational excellence.

As a Laboratory Assistant I, you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including receiving and sorting specimens, cleaning and sanitizing lab equipment and performing basic lab tests. In addition, you will carry out essential clerical duties along with patient queries.
