Description
As a key contributor of the Server Compute team, you’ll coordinate with cross-functional teams-including technical experts, business leaders, and vendors-to assess challenges, determine impact, and implement effective solutions. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead teams, set and achieve IT goals, and provide recommendations for resolution and interim workarounds. You'll play a vital part in researching and establishing team standards and best practices while assisting in strategic planning initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency. Your expertise will be essential in reviewing proposed environmental changes, driving process improvements, and fostering strong relationships with infrastructure and enterprise architecture teams. Additionally, you'll participate in major incident resolution and serve as an escalation point for incident and problem management, guiding junior staff through complex challenges. Plan and coordinate with cross functional teams (technical, systems, business, vendors, etc) to assess problem scope, impact, and characteristics. Ability to work as a team lead if required. Participate in setting and reaching IT goals. Make appropriate decisions and recommendations on resolution or interim work around. Research and establish standards and AHS best practice recommendations. Assist in strategic planning exercises and initiatives. Review thoroughly proposed changes to the environment. Research, propose and participate in key team process improvements. Foster a collaborative relationship with infrastructure and enterprise architecture teams. Understand, develop and document design requirements and considerations. Participate in major incident processes to resolve incidents. Act as escalation point for incident and problem management for more junior staff.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology or related discipline. 8+ years of Windows server related experience in enterprise environments. Able to demonstrate Team Leadership. 5+ years of experience with rack mount server hardware in enterprise environments. Excellent troubleshooting skills in Microsoft, and server technologies. Extensive knowledge and understanding of IT technologies including storage, and virtualization, and an understanding of networking technologies and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of PowerShell and scripts creation. Expand conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in remote teams. Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking. Demonstrated time management skills. Highly self-motivated and directed. Demonstrated project management ability to develop and lead small to medium sized infrastructure improvement projects. Microsoft Azure experience an asset.
As required.
Certifications in other related Microsoft technologies. Enterprise experiences supporting Microsoft Windows Server. Microsoft System Center SCOM and SCCM experience. clustering experience. Understands the key industry issues; uses this knowledge in own work.
