Instructor - Clinical Nurse Educator

As part of the Leduc Community Hospital education team, the instructor-Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for providing and facilitating education to the entire site with a focus on OR, Day surgery and endoscopy services. In collaboration with Managers, and the interprofessional team, the CNE acts as a resource for unit orientation and continuing education and supports the achievement and maintenance of clinical competencies and standards of practice. The focus of the role is dependent on the vision of the programs, the educational needs, and practice requirements of these areas.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Bachelor's degree in nursing. Previous teaching experience. Minimum of 5 years acute nursing experience required. Minimum of 3 years' operating room nursing experience required. Excellent clinical knowledge of surgical processes and procedures required. Current experience in and excellent knowledge and understanding of Connect Care required. Ambulatory care experience, with demonstrated understanding of clinic processes and procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Excellent leadership skills required.
