Description
Tofield has an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Aide to join their nursing team! As a Health Care Aide, you will be an important member of a multidisciplinary health care team, demonstrating genuine interest and respect for the clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in Home Care. You will be a key part of the multidisciplinary care team proving personal care and support to clients in the community settings. Your primary duties will be delivering health care procedures and assisting clients with ADLs as determined in collaboration with the client, their family and members of the health care team as details in the established health care plan. Under special circumstances, you may be called upon to perform assigned Restricted Activities under supervision of a regulated health professional therefore you will be required to participate in and provide documentation of relevant in-service training and education on an ongoing basis. The Town of Tofield is situated 68 km east of Edmonton on highway 14 and is easily commutable from the city of Edmonton if big city living is what you are looking for.
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.
Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) through the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Access to a reliable vehicle for business use. Able to travel in all weather conditions. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position: This position requires frequent physical demands including walking, bending, lifting, and standing and driving for long periods of time. Transporting supplies and equipment. CCHSS standards and AHS qualifications is mandatory and documentation that such education requirements are being met must be submitted on a regular basis Basic computer skills with Windows operating system including Outlook and MS Teams. 2 years recent experience in Continuing care (Type A or B) and or Home Care. Please note: the successful candidate requires upmost flexibility as this is a shift work position and scheduling may require day and evening shift work as well as weekends.
Medication Assistance Certification, along with experience. Connect Care training, along with experience
