This position is currently posted as 1.0 FTE, however we are open to adjusting the FTE to accommodate the needs of the right candidate. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, this position may qualify for a recruitment incentive of up to $60,000, depending on the length of your Return for Service (learn more at rcif-hsaa.ca). You will also benefit from Alberta Health Services’ Northern Incentives Program, which includes a Northern Allowance of up to $6,300 annually (non-pensionable and paid hourly on all basic hours worked), as well as an annual personal travel reimbursement of up to $1,235 for eligible employees. This reimbursement covers the cost of one round trip per calendar year to any destination within Alberta for employees working at sites above the 57th parallel. As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area. This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer Is and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level. In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
