Reporting to the Executive Director of the Women's Health Program, this position supports Gynecology, Women's Operating Room, Ambulatory Care for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an essential member of an inter-professional health care team caring for women. This position is responsible and accountable for the provision of evidence informed clinical practices in a high-risk tertiary level site. The successful candidate will be active in research activities and guide evidence informed curriculum and education. Strong communication and leadership skills are integral to the success of this role. The incumbent will strive to be a clinical resource and leader to support optimal patient care.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will provide an advanced level of nursing practice that maximizes the application of in-depth nursing theory, knowledge and skills in meeting the complex health care needs of individuals, families and communities. You will function as a nursing practice leader, consultant, expert practitioner, educator and researcher within a clinical specialty area. You will balance various roles depending upon the needs of the patient population and the healthcare team, collaborating on the provision of holistic and comprehensive care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Master's degree in Nursing. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum of 5-years expertise in Women's Health, gynecology, operating room, pacu, and ambulatory care. Recent adult learning/teaching experience required. Previous educator and/or leadership experience in tertiary level hospital.

Experience in policy, evidence-informed practice, teaching and research.
