Description
Join the Pharmacy Informatics team as a temporary Subject Matter Operational Readiness Expert (SMORE). Reporting to the Informatics Manager, you will lead decisions on configuring technology related to medication data, including EPIC; you may also be involved in leading work and/or decision related to Pharmacy Connect. This role involves investigating informatics issues, collaborating with analyst teams and clinicians, and developing innovative solutions. Key skills required include effective communication, strong interpersonal abilities, creative problem-solving, and adaptability. Work hours are generally during weekdays, but occasional shifts outside these hours may be required. The position is remote, so you can work from any location across AHS. Although posted for an Edmonton site, remote or hybrid work is acceptable. This posting will be used to fill 2 vacancies.
As a Clinical Informatician, you will lead or participate in the customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. You will develop and deploy information and systems solutions, drawing on expert clinical experience, and knowledge from their health discipline. Working in the field of Clinical Health Informatics will require you to incorporate the application of information technology to facilitate the creation and use of health related data, informatics aspects of safe, efficient, and effective health services for all Canadians.
Completion of bachelor's degree in a health related field. Active registration with the applicable professional association or college.
Diploma from accredited Pharmacy Technician program or bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline, active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with ACP or applicable professional association/college. Current/recent work experience as a pharmacy technician in Alberta Health Services and/or Covenant Health Pharmacy is required. Previous experience as a SMORE or experience with pharmacy clinical information system support.
Knowledge of dispensing-related configuration that would contribute to the Pharmacy Connect project. Experience as a Pharmacy Connect Care lead for implementation, barcoding or inventory. Project lead experience with demonstrated ability to positively promote the change process and interface with key partners to discuss issues and work towards resolution.
